Instant Search not working:  Windows Search Service does not start.
I'm using Windows 7 evalbuild 7100. The error message has determined the root cause is ESENT.dll. You have three methods to solve this issue: 1: Copy the C:\Windows\system32\ESENT.dll and C:\Windows\system32\SearchIndexer.exe from a working fine computer, and then replace them on your computer in the same folder. 2: System File Checker (SFC) a. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. b. Type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow The sfc /scannow command scans all system files and will recover the corrupted ones. 3: System restore. Use the system restore back up the system to a state before this issue occurred
